Cleanse Tone Moisturize

Updated: May 20, 2020

All conversations revolved around COVID-19. While eating pan de sal filled with strawberry jam, my mom would give me an update of the number of confirmed cases for Baguio. Apparently, we had one confirmed case. The viber group of essential oil enthusiasts were filled with tips and tricks on how to disinfect one's surroundings using the products that we were consuming and hawking. In the slack channel for our management group, it was all about the tasks that we had to complete based on the most recent decisions of the company's crisis management group.

My friends decided that we needed to take a break from all the talk of COVID-19 and the community lock down that many cities around the world declared to limit it's spread. So what did we end up talking about? There was skin care. Most of us had rigorous skin care routines. Since we all stayed home, we were not as exposed to grime of the city but due to habit, we still cleansed, toned, and moisturized. If the lockdown would last longer than a month, I would run out of Tretinoin cream.

On the brighter side of things, I noticed that our meetings with our clients were different. I told my boss that the interactions were a lot kinder even with those clients where the projects were not going as smoothly as we all hoped for. I wasn't sure if I was just imagining all this but we seemed to all be saying, " I know you are having a hard time, like me. So I won't be nasty today."

On the surface, I was calm and treated each day like it was normal. However, something was brewing inside. I couldn't name what it was.
